You’re invited to the Reality Composer workshop.

Firsthand experience is one of the most powerful ways to learn. With Reality Composer on Mac and Augmented Reality (AR), students can create and experience just about anything they can imagine. Reality Composer is a powerful Application for Mac that allows students to create 3D interactive scenes and simulations. Join us to explore how Reality Composer on Mac is helping transform what is possible in the classroom.

Following the successful introductory webinar we are facilitating three workshops during the first week of the school holidays - September 21, 22 and 23 at 10am presented by Apple Professional Learning Specialist, Paul Hamilton.

    Outline of the three workshops:

    Reality Composer Workshop 1:

Basic Orientation skills & inserting objects overview. Movement and navigation around the UI within Reality Composer. XYZ and editing objects, grouping, duplicating, naming conventions. Collecting USDZ objects from different sources - Sketchfab. A quick look at behaviours. Mini project to consolidate skills: build an AR sculpture for your Garden,

    Reality Composer Workshop 2:

Focus on movement and physics. Creating a simple marble run project to incorporate object interactions and design. A deeper look at behaviours and creating projects that have an impact on the user. INtegrate sounds effect and spatial audio.

    Reality Composer Workshop 3:

We examine simple and complex behaviours and user interaction including face screen and proximity to screen. How might we use these tools to interact with the user? Bring together all the skills to create a portal into another world. Add audio and sounds using Garage Band and Voice Memo.

Requirements: Reality Composer on Mac is part of the XCode bundle. This is required to participate in the workshops. Yes it is possible to use an iPad as well.

Meeting details will be emailed to registered participants prior to the workshop. The workshops begins at 10.00am Sydney time (AEST).

You’re invited to the SwiftUI workshop.

Helping students make great looking software apps can be challenging. With SwiftUI, Swift and Xcode on a Mac you can teach students the principles of good user interface design and software engineering using the same tools used by real app developers.

The goal of these workshop is to continue to introduce secondary teachers to Xcode on a Mac and hands-on examples, showing possible approaches to teach app user interface design to high school students. The three hands-on sessions during the school holidays will be tailored to the needs of the attendees and will involve a deep dive into app design.

The sessions will be presented by Apple Professional Learning Specialist, Dr. Daniel Woo. He has extensive commercial, education and R&D experience in user interface design and engineering. He has worked across the arts, education, science and engineering.

After our successful introductory webinar on we are facilitating 3 workshops during the second week of the school holidays - September 28, 29 and 30 at 10am.

Meeting details will be emailed to registered participants prior to the workshop. Workshops begin at 10.00am Sydney time (AEST) each day.
